Charis Cooper is a singer/songwriter, poet and actress.
Born in Germany, she grew up with a passion for music, words and performing. Before moving to the UK she spent years extensively studying creative writing and literature. Although having written songs throughout her teenage years, she started songwriting in earnest while living on Dartmoor, in a tiny, cottage which coincidentally was inhabited in the early 70s by Mick Taylor of The Rolling Stones, “and his harem”, as the landlady liked pointing out.
As Annika Brown she released 2 albums and fronted the band “Annika Brown and the Deep”. She staged a very well received live show - half play, half cabaret - which she performed in the character of the devil, combining her music with a selection of poems by award-winning poet John Agard.
At present, besides working on new material, she is playing the leading lady in the independent feature film "DISCO", which is being shot at the moment.
